1. | Stand in front of patient and get him to hang his hands by sides |
2. | Apply the open triangular bandage to the front of his chest with apex towards injured arm |
3. | Place upper end of bandage over the sound shoulder and let other end hang down toward the ground |
4. | Carry upper end rounf the back of neck and forward over shoulder of the injusred site |
5. | Carry upper end round the back of neck and forward over soulder of injured side |
6. | Bend injured arm carefully and elbow and place forearm across chest , with hand pointing to opposite shoulder |
7. | Bring up the lower end of bandage over the forearm and tie to the uppwer end in front of shoulder on injured site just below on collar bone |
8. | Fold apex forward over elbow and fix with safety pin |
The Small Arm Sling | |
1. | Use a broad fold bandage |
2. | Stand in front of patient and lay one end of bandage over sound shoulder |
3. | Bring it round the back of neck and forwards over the shoulder of injured side |
4. | Bend elbow , of injured arm carefully placing the wrist and hand in bandage so that they are little higher thean elbow |
5. | Bring up the lower end of bandage and tie with upper end just below collar bone on injured side |
Improvised sling | |
1. | Placing injured arm inside the buttoned up coat or waist coat |
2. | Pinning the sleeve cuff of the injured arm to lapel of the caot on uninjured side |
3. | Turning up the bottom edge of the coat on the injured side and pinning it to opposite lapel |
4. | Using belts , braces , neckties or tapes |
