| | Ensure privacy |
| | Client should be fowlers or lying in bed |
| | Abdomen is prepared and draped with towel Local anesthesia is administered Incision is made between umbilicus and symphysis pubis on midline of abdomen Trocar an cannula is inserted through incision and rubber tubing is attached to cannula Trocar is removed |
| | If canula is to remain in position , sutures will be inserted with supportive dry dressing |
